Mr. Bruce W. Ferguson [e-mail]
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
A co-founder of Edenspace, Mr. Ferguson manages the Company as President
and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Ferguson is a former Director and
Chief Operating Officer of Orbital Sciences Corporation, a space technology
company (NYSE:ORB). Before co-founding Orbital, Mr. Ferguson was an
attorney in the corporate and securities department of the Chicago
law firm of Kirkland & Ellis. He received his M.B.A. from Harvard
Business School and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1981, where
he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He received an Ed.M. from
the Harvard Graduate School of Education and an A.B. magna cum laude
in Government from Harvard College in 1976. Mr. Ferguson is a Trustee
of the Carnegie Institution of Washington and a member of the Kansas
Innovation Consortium chaired by Governor Kathleen Sebelius.
Dr. Michael J. Blaylock [e-mail]
Vice President, Systems Development
Dr. Blaylock heads the Company's Virginia office and manages environmental
and systems development operations. Dr. Blaylock was Laboratory Head
at Phytotech from 1997 to 1999, where he supervised a research team
of laboratory, greenhouse and field personnel developing phytoremediation
services. He joined Phytotech as a Research Scientist in 1996, having
completed postdoctoral studies at Rutgers University and at the University
of Wyoming from 1992-1996. He received his Ph.D. in Soil Chemistry
from the University of Maryland in 1992, and his M.S. and B.S. in Agronomy
from Brigham Young University in 1988 and 1987.
Mr. Wayne Mayhew, III, CPA [e-mail]
Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Mayhew oversees Edenspace's financial, accounting and administrative functions.
From 1999-2004 Mr. Mayhew served as Vice President Finance and Administration
and Chief Financial Officer of ETEX, and from 2004-2007 served as President and
CEO of the company. From 1983 to 1999 Mr. Mayhew was Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer of Creative BioMolecules, Inc., a biotechnology company for
which he arranged more than $200 million in financing that included an initial
public offering, before overseeing its merger into Curis, Inc. Mr. Mayhew was
Manager, Small Business Services and Audit at the accounting firm of Haskins
and Sells, now Deloitte & Touche,
from 1976 to 1983. He received his B.S. degree and M.Accty degree in Accounting
from Brigham Young University.
Dr. David A. Lee [e-mail]
Director, Molecular Biology
Dr. Lee is Edenspace's plant molecular biologist and plant regulatory
manager. Dr. Lee was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Julian Schroeder's
laboratory at the University of California-San Diego from 2002-2003,
after receiving his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from UCSD, and his
B.S. from Harvey Mudd College. From 2003-2005 he was an AAAS Science & Technology
Fellow at the EPA, where he assessed the environmental impacts and
regulatory framework of transgenic agricultural products.
Dr. Ramesh Nair [e-mail]
Director, Crop Engineering
Dr. Nair heads the crop engineering function for the company's biofuels
program. From 2006-2007 he was an Associate Scientist at the Plant
Sciences Institute at Iowa State University, after working as a Research
Scientist at Pioneer Hi-Bred from 2003-2006. Previously he had been
a Research Associate at Purdue University after working as Associate
at the Plant Biotechnology Institute in Canada. He received his Ph.D.
from the University of Saskatchewan and his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees
from Kerala Agricultural University.
Dr. Mark P. Elless [e-mail]
Director of Environmental Technologies
Dr. Elless directs Edenspace's environmental laboratory activities. He was Environmental
Research Scientist and Project Manager at Phytotech from 1996 to 1999, where
he specialized in the phytoremediation of radionuclides. He was a Research Assistant
Professor at the University of Tennessee from 1995 to 1996 and a Postdoctoral
Research Associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 1992 to 1995. He received
his Ph.D. in Soil Science from the University of Maryland in 1992, and his M.S.
and B.S. from North Dakota State University in 1987 and 1984.
