(Washington, D.C. 29 November 2011) - Edenspace Systems Corporation announced today that Dr. Michael J. Blaylock has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the company effective January 1, 2012 following the planned departure of Edenspace's current President, Mr. Bruce Ferguson. "Mike's tremendous strengths as a manager and scientist will be invaluable to Edenspace during the next stage of its growth," said Mr. Ferguson, a co-founder of Edenspace who will continue to serve as Chairman of the company's Board of Directors.

As Edenspace's Vice President of Programs and Technology and General Manager, Dr. Blaylock is currently responsible for development of the company's process and product technology platforms, including the company's Integrated Sugars Platform for biofuels and biochemicals. Prior to joining Edenspace in 1999 as Director of Research and Development, Dr. Blaylock was Laboratory Head at Phytotech, where he supervised a research team of laboratory, greenhouse and field personnel developing plant technologies. He joined Phytotech as a Research Scientist following postdoctoral work at Rutgers University and the University of Wyoming. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and his M.S. and B.S. from Brigham Young University.
