New Vice Presidents in Finance, Crop Development Will Help Oversee Team Improving Crop Feedstocks for Cellulosic Ethanol

(Junction City, KS 7 January 2008) - Edenspace Systems Corporation, an award-winning leader in the commercial use of living plants for renewable fuels and environmental protection, today announced the addition of two experienced executives to its corporate team.

Mr. Wayne E. Mayhew, III, CPA, joins Edenspace as Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of the biofuels company. Mr. Mayhew previously worked at ETEX Corporation, a privately-owned medical device company, where he negotiated and closed substantial corporate relationships with Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.  From 1999-2004 Mr. Mayhew served as Vice President Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of ETEX, and from 2004-2007 served as President and CEO of the company.  From 1983 to 1999 Mr. Mayhew was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Creative BioMolecules, Inc., a biotechnology company for which he arranged more than $200 million in financing that included an initial public offering, before overseeing its merger into Curis, Inc.  Mr. Mayhew was Manager, Small Business Services and Audit at the accounting firm of Haskins and Sells, now Deloitte & Touche, from 1976 to 1983.  He received his B.S. degree and M.Accty degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University. 

Dr. Forrest G. Chumley has accepted the position of Vice President, Crop Development of Edenspace effective February 15, 2008.  Since 2001, Dr. Chumley has served as a Professor in the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University and Associate Director for Research and Technology Transfer at the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station.  He is a co-founder and member of the Coordinating Committee of the International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium and chairs the Steering Committee for the Great Plains Sorghum Improvement and Utilization Center.  From 1985-2001 he held a series of scientific and management positions in crop technology at DuPont both before and after its combination with Pioneer Hi-Bred International, including Senior Research Scientist, Research Supervisor, Technology Planning Manager and Manager of Biotechnology Partnerships & Alliances.  Previously he was a Senior Research Associate, Department of Chemistry, University of Colorado, Boulder and a NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in the Section of Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology at Cornell University and at the Whitehead Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Dr. Chumley received his B.A. in Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University and his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. 

Both officers report directly to Mr. Bruce W. Ferguson, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Edenspace, at the company's headquarters in Junction City, Kansas.   "Wayne Mayhew and Forrest Chumley exemplify the ingenuity, energy and commitment to excellence that we seek to maintain in our rapidly-growing team," Mr. Ferguson said.
